The University of Indianapolis’ Allen & Helen Kellogg Writers Series will resume at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, with fiction writer Karen Getteert Shoemaker discussing her work at Schwitzer Student Center, 1400 E. Hanna Ave.
Shoemaker’s novel “The Meaning of Names” was published earlier this year, and her first collection of short fiction, “Night Sounds and Other Stories,” was published in 2002.
Her fiction and poetry have appeared in leading journals and have been anthologized. She received her Ph.D. in creative writing in 1997 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she is a writing mentor.
