Spotlight Players will close out its season with “Parallel Lives,” which opens Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Irvington Lodge, 5515 E. Washington St.
Based on a 1986 stage show and a 1991 HBO specials by the same name, the production unites the talented duo of Molly Bellner and Amy Kern-Smith while the audience is whisked through the outrageous universe where the actresses play men and women who are struggling through the common rituals of modern life.
With boundless humor, the play re-examines the ongoing quest to find parity and love in a contest handicapped by capricious gods or, in this case, goddesses.
