Downtown Greenwood is expecting another year of record crowds for its Summer Concert Series, which continues at 7 p.m. Saturday with the Flying Toasters performing at the newly renovated amphitheater at Craig Park.
Other improvements to the grounds include a new walkway system, decorative lighting and landscaping, and the park has been connected to Meridian Street and Mrs. Curl via a trail.
Mayor Mark W. Myers said the improvements will help residents better enjoy the city’s core. “From Day 1, preserving, growing and connecting Downtown has been a top priority for my administration.
The renovation provides our citizens with a revamped space for entertainment, relaxation and easy walkability to other areas of downtown.”
The concert schedule:
• June 23: Stella Luna and the Satellites
• July 14: Tastes Like Chicken
• July 21: The Big 80s
• July 28: Parrots of the Caribbean
• Aug. 4: Indy Nile
• Aug. 11: The Doo
All concerts begin at 7 p.m., and lawn chairs and coolers – no more
than 20 inches in length – are allowed. Alcohol and glass containers are prohibited
