Pin-Ups on Tour, a troupe that performs a World War II-style variety show, will take the stage Friday at Greenwood Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5684, 333 S. Washington St.
Beginning at 8 p.m., the performance will feature dancing showgirls, comedy routines, soulful lounge singers, raffle-ticket selling beauties and more than a few surprises. The group hails from California and has traveled throughout the United States to bring smiles and laughs to audiences.
The appearances are described as remarkable in re-creating the magic of the Hollywood canteen that operated during the 1940s as a club offering dancing, drinks and entertainment for servicemen who were usually on their way overseas.
There is no admission charge for veterans, but they must secure their tickets in advance by stopping by the post after 2 p.m. through Friday or visiting http://greenwoodpinups.brownpapertickets.com/. Tickets at the door are $25 for veterans, $35 for reserved seating, $50 for VIP seats. Proceeds will support the group in entertaining veterans in and out of the Veterans Affairs hospitals.
