Wright, a Greenwood resident who has been creating art since she was old enough to hold a brush, said she loves to paint abstract subject matter and create her own unique world. Her inspirations come from nature and artists like Tara Donovan, Lydia Burris, Salvador Dali and Van Gogh.
She rarely enjoys painting subjects directly from life. She usually starts off with what first comes to mind and then paints away until the ideas start flowing.
A reception in her honor will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the gallery, 299 E. Broadway St., Greenwood, where normal business hours 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. Call 317-882-5562 to arrange an appointment outside of those hours.
