The Tony Award-nominated musical is set at the time of the Stock Market Crash of 1929. Mame Dennis becomes the guardian of her 10-year-old nephew, Patrick, and her life is turned upside-down – as is his.
Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee based the musical on their award-winning play “Auntie Mame,” which in turn was based on the novel of the same name by Patrick Dennis.
The production boasts such songs as “Mame,” “If He Walked Into My Life,” “We Need a Little Christmas,” “It’s Today” and “That’s How Young I Feel.”
Additional shows are Sept. 27 and Oct. 2-5 and 9-12. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets, $10 for Thursdays’ productions, $20 for all others, can be reserved by calling 926-6630.
