Filmmakers desiring the opportunity to create a movie that might be screened at Filmapalooza and the Cannes Film Festival are invited to participate in the 48 Hour Film Project.
The endeavor is a wild and sleepless weekend in which teams write, shoot, edit and score seven-minute films in 48 hours.
At 6 p.m. July 31 at the Hinge Bureau, 179 Virginia Ave., teams will be assigned a genre as well as a character, a prop and a line of dialogue that must be included in their movies. Register ($160 before July 6, $160 from July 6-20, $175 after that) at www.48hourfilm.com/indianapolis.
Interested people are invited to a free mixer at 6 p.m. July 20 at Oaken Barrel Brewing Coo., 50 Airport Parkway, Greenwood, where filmmakers can get to know each other, find teams, learn more about the project, identify potential shooting locations, etc.
Screenings will be held Aug. 8 at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
