• A free workshop to build and decorate houses for bats, bees and birds will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. Participants will learn about the important role these tiny creatures play in the ecosystem. Register at www.spiritandplace.org.
• Artwork influenced by winged creatures will be displayed Nov. 5-15. Hours are 2-9 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, noon-4 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and by appointment Sunday and Monday.
• A basic course in watercolor begins today and runs from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 14. The cost is $90 for six classes.
• Clay hand building runs from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursdays through Dec. 15. The cost is $60.
• The Garfield Shakespeare Company will present “The Waverly Gallery” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Monday and 3 p.m. Sunday. The production is a powerfully poignant and often hilarious play about the final years of a generous, chatty and feisty grandmother’s final battle against Alzheimer’s disease.
