Santa Will Visit Beech Grove
Santa Claus is coming to Beech Grove on Saturday, and children will be able to tell him their secret Christmas wishes from 1-3 p.m. at the Elton Geshwiler Senior Center, 602 Main St.
A free Christmas dinner and the showing of “Polar Express” will be presented at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at Hornet Park Community Center, 5245 Hornet Ave. Info or registration: 317-803-9086.

Band Is Presenting Concert

 The Greater Greenwood Community Band will present its annual Christmas concert from 2-3:30 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood High School, 615 W. Smith Valley Road. While admission is free, donations of canned goods for Greenwood’s Salvation Army food bank is requested.

‘The Nutcracker’ Will Be Staged

Beech Grove High School’s Choral Department and The Dance Refinery are teaming again to present the The Nutcracker.” Curtain times for the grand holiday classic are 7 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the school, 5330 Hornet Ave. Advance tickets are $10 and available by emailing mdean@bgcs.k12.in.us. Tickets at the door will cost $12.

Santa Will Be at Home Center
A news bulletin from the North Pole has confirmed that Santa Claus will make a special appearance at Cardwell Do-it Best Home Center, 3205 Madison Ave., from 11 a.m.-to 1 p.m. Saturday. Children will receive a gift from the jolly, bearded gent while having the opportunity to tell him their secret Christmas wishes. Santa’s elves will assist in providing candy, popcorn and balloons to all of the children. People wanting to support the center’s toy drive can drop off tax-deductible donations to the center. Garfield Conservatory Is a Winter Wonderland

All things are toasty and cheery at the Garfield Park Conservatory, 2450 Shelby St., where the tropical paradise now houses Conservatory Crossing, a winter wonderland that features hundreds of brilliant poinsettias, running model trains and villages. As darkness falls, the conservatory is illuminated with thousands of twinkling lights, creating an enchanting Christmas atmosphere. The exhibit, running through Dec. 31 (closed Dec. 24 and 25), may be viewed from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday, with extended hours until 8 p.m. Dec. 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23. Admission is $4 per person or $10 per family (two adults maximum).

Christmas Party for All Military Members, Their Families

Christ Our Shepherd Church of the Brethren, 857 N. State Road 135, Greenwood, will host a chili cook-off and a Christmas party for all military members – veterans and active duty – surviving spouses and their families at 5 p.m. Sunday. There will also be children’s crafts and activities. Info: 317-416-7888.
