Tickets on Sale for Perry Seniors’ Dinner, Auction
Perry Senior Services will hold its annual Midsummer Night Swing, a fundraising dinner/dance and auction, Saturday, July 12, at Primo Banquet Hall & Conference Center, 2615 National Ave, where the bidding and a cocktail hour begin at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by Steve Elston, who’s back by popular demand. Tickets, $25 for seniors and $30 for everyone else, are on sale at the senior center, 6901 Derbyshire Road. The agency, which has issued a heartfelt thanks to American Senior Communities for being the grand sponsor, delivered 17,462 hot meals to seniors last year and took them to 1,219 medical appointments.
Community Action Team Is Seeking New Members
A community action team that seeks to improve the lives of residents within the boundaries of Sumner and Keystone avenues and East Street and I-465 will meet from 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at University Heights United Methodist Church, 4002 Otterbein Ave. and adjacent to the University of Indianapolis. The team, which is always seeking new members, will host a meet and greet at 5:30 p.m.
Enrichment Program Features Workshop, Food and Games
Like Father, Like Son Inc., a youth mentoring program, will host its Spark in the Park from 4-9 p.m. Saturday on the University of Indianapolis’ student parking lot, 1400 E. Hanna Ave. Open to boys ages 9-17, the event will feature workshops, live performances, bounce houses, a dunk tank, basketball, soccer and kickball tournaments, free haircuts, food, music, prizes and a fireworks show. The organization is also holding open gyms for children ages 10-18 from 6-8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 2. The cost is $1. Ave Maria Guild Will Plan Rummage Sale
