Manual High School’s Classes of 1955 and ’56 will hold their annual reunion picnic from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at the Ray Skillman Classic Car Museum, 1250 S. U.S. 31, Greenwood. Bake and Rummage Sale

Pacers Mascot Boomer at Fundraiser
Boomer, the mascot for the Indiana Pacers, will be the featured attraction when Greenwood Library hosts a fundraiser from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug 27, at Greenwood Middle School, 523 S. Madison Ave. Boomer will demonstrate his dunking ability, sign autographs and pose for pictures. There will also be games and giveaways. Admission is $5. Info: 881-1953.
Bingo at Sahara Grotto
The Sahara Grotto, 7620 Madison Ave., will host an evening of bingo Friday. Play starts at 7 p.m., and there will be one free game and pull tabs. Food and snacks will be available at 6 p.m. Players must be at least 18.
Donations Accepted for Rummage Sale
The Ave Maria Guild of St. Paul Hermitage will host a rummage sale from 8:30-a.m.-2:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Our Lady of Grace Monastery, 1402 Southern Ave., Beech Grove, where donations will be accepted from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 24 and 25. Info: Vicki at 888-7625.
Bands Will Perform
The Greater Greenwood Community Band and the Crossroads Brass Band will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Greenwood Amphitheatre, just south of Main and Meridian streets and behind the fire station. Those attending can bring their lounge chairs and favorite snacks.
Feast of Lanterns Will Be Celebrated
Known for its colorful array of glowing lanterns, the Feast of Lanterns will be celebrated from 4-11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Spades Park, 1800 Nowland Ave. The free event will also feature live music, food vendors, artists, yoga, a beer and wine garden and a children’s zone. The musical entertainment will include Damon Karl, The Punkin Holler Boys, Busman’s Holiday, Rodney Stepp and The Pork & Beans Brass Band.
Church Serves Free Lunches
University Heights United Methodist Church, 4002 Otterbein Ave., adjacent to the University of Indianapolis, will serve free lunches from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday.
Fundraiser for Southport’s Athletic Department
City Barbeque and Southport High are hosting a fundraiser today for the school’s athletic department. When diners eat at the restaurant, 7863 S. U.S. 31 South, and present a flyer that can be downloaded at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1rbgJvwNToawUi1Y9ifJMt36ukP6oiQYXqmaMPkC-4uE/edit, 25 percent of the sale will be donated to the department.
