Noted children’s author Jacqueline Woodson will deliver The Indianapolis Public Library’s 39th annual McFadden Memorial Lecture on April 15 at Northview Middle School.

Her autobiographical book of verse for young children, “Brown Girl Dreaming,” received this year’s Newbery Honor Award and the 2014 National Book Award.
She received the Coretta Scott King Award for her 2000 book “Miracle’s Boys” and the Margaret Edwards Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2002. She was named Young People’s Poet Laureate this year by the Poetry Foundation for a two-year term.
