Based on a play made into a 2012 motion picture starring Maggie Smith, “Quartet” opens Jan. 30 for two-weekends at Buck Creek Playhouse, 11150 Southeastern Ave.
From British playwright Ronald Harwood, the story features opera singers Reggie, Cissy and Wilf, who lead a harmonious existence at a home for retired musicians ... until Reggie’s ex-wife, grand dame Jean Horton, arrives. Can the passage of time heal old wounds? And will the famous quartet be able to patch up their differences long enough to head back into the rehearsal room for one final encore? Show time is 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Because of adult situations and language, parental guidance is suggested. Tickets, $14 for students and seniors, $16 for adults, can be reserved by calling 862-2270 or visiting www.buckcreekplayers.com. |
