Businessmen Frank McKinney Jr., Robert Welch, John Weliever and Mike Carrol were killed when their turboprop plane crashed into a Piper aircraft about 2,000 feet above the ground in southeastern Marion County. Both pilots, including Bill Bennet, perished; however, Mark Doucey and Julie Bennet, passengers in the Piper, miraculously survived but were in serious condition.
