Monsignor Downey Knights of Columbus Council 3660, 511 E. Thompson Road, held a recognition dinner to honor Bob Lynch for his many years of service to the organization. A graduate of Sacred Heart Central High School and IUPUI, Lynch and his wife, Dottie, had two children, Mary and Jeanine, and six grandchildren.

Ed Sterns, a 19-year route driver for The Spotlight, dropped off his last bundle of newspapers. Sterns had delivered about 7,000 papers weekly and estimated that he was responsible for peddling more than 5 million papers over nearly two decades. An accomplished angler, the 82-year-old outdoorsman had won many bass fishing tournaments.
