He was welcomed by Perry Township Schools Superintendent Tom Little and Principal Barb Brouwer. The evening culminated with the Class 6A No. 5 Cardinals upping their football record to 5-0 with a 38-17 victory over Bloomington South.
Following the homecoming theme of “Cardinals Take Center Stage,” the parade featured a replica of the White Lightning car, the original of which was in “Grease.” The float was one of 64 units in the parade. Children of all ages lined the route and were ready and waiting for candy to be thrown their direction. Some kids were prepared with bags, boxes and sacks for holding their “loot.”
