Joan Wiley (left) and Kay Chittenden, volunteers who were known as “twins” at Roudebush Veterans Affairs Medical Center during the 1970s through early ’90s because they wore nearly identical clothing,   were recently reunited after having not seen each other for more than 20 years.

Wiley and Chittenden showed up at the hospital one day in 1973 wearing nearly identical yellow dresses ... and then showed up again in matching attire. They were labeled twins and decided to buy look-alike outfits when volunteering, for which they won many awards.

Wiley later moved to Heritage Point near Fort Wayne while Chittenden remained in her Southport home. They corresponded though cards and letters and were reunited when Chittenden’s daughters, Janette Koon and Lynette Graves, drove her to have lunch with Wiley.
