State Road 135, Greenwood, were announced as the winners of the fifth annual Kiwanis Club of Perry Township chili cook-off Friday at Center United Methodist Church. Second-place honor went to Robbie’s Pub, represented by Jeff Udrasols and third-place Ind. Sen. Jack Sandlin, far right. Kiwanis Club co-president and event leader Scott Splichal expressed his appreciation to local businesses that donated items for the silent auction. The cook-off raised funds for Hunger Inc., and Riley Hospital for Children. Ribbons also were awarded to 2019 champion Sarah Clark-Carson of Bubba’s 33, Ryan Cain of Applebee’s Greenwood Mall, Martha and Tom Brown of Hunger Inc., and Peggy Bryson and Jamal Moore from Five Star Residences of Banta Pointe. Perry Kiwanis supports college scholarships, Perry Senior Citizens and several organizations. The club was founded in 1982 and meets at the IHOP Restaurant, 7521 U.S. 31 South, Thursdays at 7 a.m.
