Pat Mapes, and Jane Pollard. The award was first announced by the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) in December, and administrators were honored Feb. 6. The school was selected after a rigorous data review and interview process to identify successful, high-poverty schools with a diverse student population. With a school poverty level of 80 percent, the school has maintained an ‘A’ or ‘B’ for the past two years. Forty-nine percent of the student body, many are immigrants or refugees, receive services through the English Learners program.
