SUBMITTED PHOTO Beech Grove High School educator Kim Self (left) completed the 13th annual DuPont National AgriScience Teachers Ambassadors Academy at the company's Chesapeake Farms in Chestertown, Md. Upon receiving her certificate of completion, she became an ag ambassador, joining the other 322 teachers from across the country who finished the program. “The ag academy has been an eye-opening experience," said Self, who’s seen with academy facilitator Jo Ann Pfeiffer as they demonstrate how solar energy can be used to pump water to irrigate crops in remote locations around the world. "With a wealth of new knowledge, materials and resources,” added Self, “I'm eager to start preparing my classroom curriculum and share what I've learned with my students and other teachers." |
