The Southport High School Alumni Association will celebrate 25 years of awarding scholarships in May. The program was launched in 1992 through the efforts of Cindy Bertram, who was determined that the organization should award scholarships.
The program has grown throughout the years and will award $64,000 to 66 seniors during a banquet May 20 at the University of Indianapolis.
The recipients will include (top, from left) Stephanie Sanchez and Nu Hing, who are seen with Ruth Mercer, banquet chairwoman.
In addition, Peg Warner (right) will be honored as the school’s Alumna of the Year.
