United Way of Johnson County will collect school supplies for area children during its annual Stuff the Bus event, which will take place Saturday, Aug. 9.
Empty buses will be parked outside of Walmart, 1133 N. Emerson Ave., Greenwood, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., and from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at both Greenwood Krogers, 3100 Meridian Parke Drive and 2200 Independence Drive.
Suitable donations include notebooks, pens, pencils, coloring crayons, markers folders, scissors or any other school supplies.
Contributions can be also dropped off at Heartland Community or Mutual Saving banks through Aug. 11.
The program is part of Fast Track, a countywide initiative that provides school supplies and other items to help low-income students be prepared for school.
