At least 930 freshmen, a 16 percent increase from last year, are beginning their UIndy educations this fall, along with more than 200 students transferring from other institutions. To help introduce the students to the city, about 600 of them on Aug. 21 participated in a three-hour scavenger hunt, which introduced them to civic and cultural focal points. The hunt began at Monument Circle and ended with a party on the Indiana State Museum lawn, followed by an Indianapolis Indians game at Victory Field, where UIndy President Robert Manuel threw out the ceremonial first pitch.
