Lutheran High School has named David Failinger as its valedictorian and Sarah Deitz and Gabrielle Wirick as co-salutatorians. All are members of the National Honor Society.
Failinger, son of Thomas and Gale Failinger of Greenfield, plans to study premedicine at Indiana University Bloomington.

He has volunteered for Kristi’s Games, a family fun day held annually at the school, was Academic All-Indiana Crossroads Conference in soccer and basketball and All-Conference and All-Marion County third team in soccer. He also played for a travel soccer squad.

He participates in the Brandywine Community Church Youth Group and Mountain Tennessee Outreach Project, a community service camp.

Deitz, daughter of Ed and Stephanie Deitz, will study public relations at Ball State. She participated in theater, Spell Bowl and robotics. She was in the choir, served as an office aid, played soccer and is the school’s hula hoop champion.
Dietz has volunteered at SonRise camps and retreats in Anderson while being paired with a developmentally disabled person. She recently received the Prudential Spirit of Community Award and President’s Volunteer Service Award and was recognized as an Outstanding Student by the Rotary Club of Indianapolis.
Wirick, daughter of Andrew and Lynn Wirick, plans to study athletic training at Evansville, where she has been accepted into an honors program.
A yearbook editor and a student admissions ambassador, she was on the speech team, sang in the chamber choir and served on the prom committee. She was Academic All-Conference in softball and soccer and scored the winning goal for the South team in the Indiana Elite North-South soccer game. She also played basketball and ran cross-country.
Wirick is a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, a lifeguard at Camp Dellwood and a singer with the Indianapolis Children’s Choir, having performed in England, France and South Africa.
