SUBMITTED PHOTO Perry Meridian Sixth Grade Academy has named its Students of the Month for August. The pupils received certificates from teachers and freebies from Wheels of Wonder. They were also treated to a catered lunch by Papa John’s and Chick-fil-A. They were recognized for following the school’s R.O.A.D. to success program. R.O.A.D. stands for respecting your peers, owning your education, addressing adults appropriately and demonstrating good behavior. Sarah TeKolste, a teacher at Manual High School, has been named a fellow of Teach Plus Indianapolis’ Teaching Policy Fellowship cohort.
TeKolste will look to magnify the impact she has in her classrooms through a specially designed course of study in education policy and advocacy, interactions with education leaders and opportunities to advocate for policies that will better serve her students. Teach Plus empowers outstanding teachers to take leadership over key policy and practice issues that affect their students’ success. |
