Greenwood High School recently honored its top 20 academic seniors at an academic banquet at the Garment Factory in Franklin. The seniors are, not in order, Salim Abdulhadi, Tatiana Andrade, Joni Brummitt, Allison Christie, Destiny Clark, Dillon Cloyd, Areeba Hasan, Hannah Heilman, Hannah Henderson, Sam Irons, Cooper Kelly, Devin Lester, Paul Lundgaard, Cole Mahan, Miriam Martinez, Zach McCauley, McKenzie McClarney, Allison Smerdel, Lauren Spencer and Alyssa Stilley. Each senior was introduced to the audience by the teacher they appreciated the most.

The surprise was part of the news station’s segment that highlights some of the community’s best teachers based on letters from students. The Channel 8 news crew taped the kids’ reading the letters and later surprised Carter in class. |
