SUBMITTED PHOTO The Kiwanis Club of Perry Township and the Kiwanis Indiana Foundation have awarded college scholarships to Katherine Goebel (left) and Angela Dong. Goebel, a senior at Roncalli, was awarded $700 and plans to study biomedical engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She is active in soccer and robotics and plays the oboe and English horn. Dong, who ranks third in her class of nearly 500 students at Southport, was awarded $1,200 and plans to study pharmacy at Purdue. The senior is outgoing president of the Key Club (Kiwanis high school organization) and was an Indiana State School Music Association gold medalist in violin. Both students have earned GPAs in excess of 4.0 and are members of the National Honor Society. They are seen with Steve Hadley, who serves as scholarship chairman of the club. |
