Greenwood Christian Academy (9-8) is in its third year of fielding a team, and athletic director/coach Dan Carmichael is optimistic, especially with everyone back from a team that hit .472 last year. “We have a lot of hope for a team with some good defensive and offensive depth after coming off two seasons above .500. I truly feel we have a tremendous amount of leadership, quality players and strength in so many positions.”
The 1A Cougars return with experience in pitcher Isabella Roby (.574, 27 hits, 25 RBI), first baseman Delanie Kent (.333), outfielder-catcher Brianna Lawrence (.696, 32 hits, 22 RBI), third baseman Tara Pennycuff (.512, 28 RBI), second baseman Faith Skilkert (.500), utility player Isabel Solano, outfielder-catcher Emma Manship, catcher Grace Apgar (.448) and outfielder Bethany Dailey (.556).
