The University of Indianapolis softball team raised $4,578 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association during its fourth annual doubleheader against Bellarmine on Saturday. The event was organized by UIndy softball player and Center Grove graduate Megan Slightom and her nephew, Liam Ealy, who threw out the first pitch and was diagnosed with MD at age 2. Both teams wore T-shirts with “Team Liam” on the back to raise awareness of MD. UIndy won the first game 4-3 and lost the second one 7-3.
