The award is voted upon by each coach and athletic director in the conference and is based upon the best display of sportsmanship by a school’s students, parents, coaches and hospitality toward visiting teams.

(SUBMITTED PHOTO) Matthew Alter, a graduate of Lutheran High School, has committed to play baseball at Piedmont College in Demorest, Ga. Alter, a three-sport athlete, is with parents Karen and Dick Alter. The Saints’ baseball standout will be coached by Justin Scali and associate head coach Jared Broughton, a former standout athlete at Lutheran. The Piedmont Lions were ranked in the Division 3 Top 20 last season. Alter was all-Marion County and all-Indiana Crossroads Conference during his junior and senior years. At Lutheran, he helped lead the Saints to four IHSAA baseball sectional titles, a regional championship and Final Four appearance. He also lettered three years in basketball, two years in tennis and one year of football. |
