Roncalli and Center Grove brought home IHSAA team wrestling sectional championships Saturday as Southside high school teams captured 26 individual titles among 80 wrestlers qualifying for regionals competition.
Advancing all 14 Royals to the Perry Meridian Regional, Roncalli won the Southport Sectional with 303 team points; Perry Meridian was second, Southport was third, and Beech Grove fourth. Center Grove also advanced all 14 wrestlers to the Mooresville Regional.
Southport’s Kyla Johnson, the 113-pound Indiana High School Girls Wrestling Association champion, was the runner-up Saturday in the same weight-class on her home mat to qualify for regional action.
IHSAA regionals are Saturday at 8 a.m.
