OUTHSIDER VOICE PHOTOSBY NATHAN PACE Luke Goodwin was second for Southport in the 138-pound class. Perry Meridian and Southport wrestlers competed in the John Hurrle Invitational Saturday at Tech High School. The tournament, one of the season’s first, took a whopping 10 hours to complete. When it was all said and done, the Falcons finished fifth out of 13 teams with the Cardinals not far behind in seventh place.
Southport’s Payton Frye (right) finished second in the 182-pound class, losing to JD Farrell of Fishers in the championship match. Frye suffered a nosebleed in the match and was pinned shortly after getting the bleeding stopped.
