Irwin, a graduate of Southern Wells High School and Grace College, served as athletic director at Whitko High School for seven years and as assistant athletic director at Huntington North. He has 10 years experience as a basketball coach at Fort Wayne Carroll, Whitko and Huntington North.
Taft was the girls coach at Class A Union High School near New Castle. He and his family live in Johnson County, where he has an athletics consulting business.
He inherits three key returnees – all-star point guard Holly Hoopingarner and her senior classmates, Maddy Renfro and Megan Overton – from an 11-13 team with the addition of his daughters, Jae and Bailee.
