QUINCY, Ill. -- The Hawks (5-2, 3-2 Great Lakes Valley) converted four UIndy fumbles into 21 points while also racking up 273 yards on the ground to down the Greyhounds (2-5, 1-3) for the first time in five all-time meetings. Redshirt-freshman Jaylan James led the Hawks with 113 rushing yards -- 111 of which came in the second half.
Making his first career start, UIndy quarterback Bryce Stancombe (Bloomington, Ind.) threw for 396 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in the losing effort. Greyhound wideouts Tuwan Payont (New Albany, Ind.), Garrett Willis (St. Louis) and Malik Higgins (Evansville, Ind.) each compiled at least 100 yards receiving.
