Ranked No. 1 in Class 6A, Center Grove romped over host Columbus North 34-7 in Sectional 8 as Titus McCoy and Jackson Hohlt each ran for two TDs in the second half and quarterback Joey Siderewicz threw two scoring strikes. The Trojans (10-0) and No. 10 Bulldogs were tied 7-7 at halftime.
The Trojans’ defense pressured CN’s quarterback Triston Perry and held his passing game to only 91 yards and no touchdowns.
Roncalli (6-4), No. 10 in 4A, continues to jell. The Rebels shut out visiting Frankfort 28-0 after building a three-touchdown lead in the first quarter. Roncalli’s balanced attack featured Robbie Strader throwing for 121 yards on 10-of-12 passing and two touchdowns, while the running game, led by Nate Fries’ 83 yards, racked up 178 yards.
Lutheran (6-4) edged host Knightstown 56-42 in a 1A matchup between top 10 teams.
Perry Meridian fell 49-7 to 6A Warren Central. The Falcons finish 5-5 for the third time in four seasons.
In 3A, highly ranked Batesville blanked visiting Manual 45-0. The Redskins finish 3-7, but the three wins are the most since 2007.
