CENTER GROVE (4A, 21-7) – Gone are three seniors, including Indiana All-Star Cassidy Hardin (17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds) … second year coach Kevin Stuckmeyer returns with eight players … boasts one-two scoring punch with senior guards in tenacious defender Emma Utterback (8.9 points, 3.1 rebounds) and Ella Thompson (8.4 points, 4.6 rebounds) … opening-day starters include forwards in 5-11 senior Kylie Storm and 5-10 sophomore Mary Wilson and 5-7 junior guard Ashley Eck … look for 6-0 freshman Katie Egenolf to play big … nine deep with juniors Claire and Emily Rake and Alainna Frankel … senior Amanda Hoffman adds quickness … in-your-face defense … need more scorers than Utterback and Thompson … Johnson County tourney next and then a visit to Roncalli Nov. 24.

Coach’s comments: “We know Emma and Ella are focal points offensively. They trust the process more than last year. They are more than willing to get their teammates involved. I like our defense. We have depth. I think we will be efficient (offense), but it will take time to set our rotations. We will have to find our No. 3 and No. 4 scorers or we will become limited. We will need to knock down shots. We must be ready to play every night.”
