Center Grove walked away with the 4A sectional trophy at Bloomington South and celebrates after coming from behind to defeat Mooresville, 42-25, emerging as the Southside’s only sectional championship team Saturday night. The Trojans, coached by Kevin Stuckmeyer, held the Pioneers to only four points in the third quarter and a shutout in the fourth. Team members, not in order, are Audrey Annee, Aubie Booker, Brooklyn Brown, Ali Wiesmann, Aina Williams, Savanna Bischoff, Lindsey Walker, Ella Hobson, Lilly Bischoff, and Rachel Wirts. Annee’s 17 points led against the Pioneers with seven points apiece from Lilly Bischoff and Wirts. CG reached the championship game by defeating the host Cougars, 42-30. The Trojans opened the sectional by defeating rival Greenwood, 56-26. This is the 22nd sectional title and 100th playoff game win in program history. The Trojans advance to the regional championship Saturday at 4 p.m. against rival Franklin at Beford North Lawrence. CG has a 17-game winning streak and is ranked ninth among 4A teams.
