Greenwood’s football program continues on the upswing with seniors (from left) running back/safety Will Wolf, lineman Ryder Burchett, quarterback Seth Gallman, running back/safety Dylan Rosado and linebacker AJ Reingardt.
PictureGreenwood junior defensive end Coner Battinau recorded 62 tackles as a sophomore.
GREENWOOD (4A, 7-5) – Woodmen are 33-23 over the past five seasons … averaged 300 yards offense per game … coach Mike Campbell begins his 11th season … must find a way to make up for loss of John Gallman and Jackson Daugherty, who combined for 1,984 yards rushing, and defensive ace Brayton England, 139 tackles … quarterback Seth Gallman (1,273 yards passing) controls offense … hard-running Brandon Rosado (5.0 yards per carry), a physical blocker, and electric Dylan Rosado (5.4 yards per carry, 231 yards receiving) are threats, plus soph Isaiah Borjas … behind effective linemen Ryder Burchett, Thomas Bowlin and Eli McClain with tight end Coner Battinau … Nick Young, Jake Patton and Joey Craig form a D-line … A.J. Montgomery (90 tackles),Timmy Johns and Noah Compton are solid linebackers … backed by safety Dylan Rosado (93 tackles) and Will Wolf (62 tackles) … Mid-State contenders too long; Woodmen want the championship.

Coach’s comments:
“We feel really good because our younger kids who played a year earlier than they probably should have developed a lot faster than we thought they would. We have some role players back who worked hard during the off-season. We are excited and optimistic and have potential, but we haven’t played anybody yet.  We’ve got a solid backfield with a leader at quarterback and runners who can go downhill. Our speed on defense is as good as it has been here in a long time.

We want to have an exciting product on the field. Our fans have done a good job of getting behind us and making football fun. Our goal is to aim higher to accomplish the goals that we want to accomplish.” – Coach Mike Campbell

The Woodmen have plenty of experience on the front line with juniors Andy Pollert, Zach Drew, Thomas Bowling and Ethan McClain.

Greenwood running backs Brandon Rosado and Isaiah Borjas should ensure a solid ground game for the Woodmen.
