Center Grove’s wrestlers claimed the Mooresville Regional championship Saturday with four individual champions.
The Trojans placed ahead of runner-up Brownsburg, 211-186.5 points, with Whiteland third with 78 points. Decatur Central was 10th and Greenwood 14th.
Roncalli was second in team points to champion Warren Central, 165-125.5 Saturday with regional host Perry Meridian third. Franklin Central, Beech Grove, and Southport were sixth, seventh, and eighth respectively. Lutheran was 10th and Christel House Manual 13th.
In an all-Southside finals match at Perry Meridian, Franklin Central’s Gauge Clark defeated Roncalli’s Alex Plahitko, 13-5, 126 pounds.
Roncalli senior Bryce Lowery (152) and teammate Luke Hansen (195) are undefeated through 36 matches.
At Mooresville, Whiteland senior Joey Butler remained undefeated after 37 matches by defeating Brady Ison of Brownsburg, 3-1 in the 132-pound class.
Center Grove junior Wyatt Krejsa (145) defeated Mason Day of Brownsburg, 8-1, and teammate Nate Johnson (24-2) defeated Whiteland’s Jakarrey Olivere, 5-2 in 220.

Wrestlers who finished first through fourth advance to the semistate rounds Saturday.
Wrestlers qualifying from the Perry Meridian Regional go to the New Castle Semistate with qualifiers from the Mooresville Regional heading to the Ford Center in the Evansville Reitz Semistate on Saturday. The top four places in each weight class will advance to the state finals, Feb. 17-18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
