The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has honored 10 Southside girls’ basketball players with all-state recognition. Franklin Central junior Rachel Loobie was voted as an IBCA/ Subway Supreme 15 underclass player. Roncalli’s Alana Vinson was named large school (4A and 3A) underclass all-state and Greenwood Christian’s Izzy Reed as small school (2A and 1A) underclass all-state.
Center Grove’s Ella Thompson and teammate Emma Utterback were named IBCA/Subway senior all-state. All-state senior honorable mention included Perry Meridian’s Caitie Baird, Beech Grove’s Alexiana Blakely, and Lutheran’s Rylee Morris; underclass Roncalli’s Maddie Bischoff and Southport’s Lexie Green.
The Southside players were among nearly 200 players honored by the IBCA. Loobie and Vinson were among the state’s top 24 juniors who were named as Indiana Junior All-Stars. They will join the core six all-stars in one of three games.
The Junior All-Stars play the Indiana All-Star senior girls, June 5. The Indiana-Kentucky games are June 7 in Kentucky and June at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
