The No. 1 Southport boy's basketball team defeated Ben Davis Friday night 45-27 to advance to the Sectional Final. The Cardinals led most of the game and built a double-digit cushion in the second half.
The Cardinals will meet the Red Devils of Pike, as they defeated Perry Meridian 67-40 in the second game. Host Perry Meridian could not overcome a slow start but did cut it to five points at 18-13 in the second quarter. Pike's size was too much in the end.
The Sectional Final will take place Saturday night at 7:30 at Perry Meridian High School.
