Defending 2A boys state champion Center Grove opens regional play at 5 p.m. Thursday against Franklin Central in the first match of the Mount Vernon Sectional in Fortville.
The Trojans won their 2A sectional by defeating Martinsville 5-0 and Franklin 2-0. Franklin Central won the Warren Central Sectional by shutting down Beech Grove 5-0 and Tech 2-0.
Sectional champion Perry Meridian meets Greenfield in the nightcap Thursday. The Falcons won their sectional by edging Decatur Central 2-1 and Roncalli 1-0.
The two winners meet Saturday at 7 p.m.
