Baseball sectionals begin today with Roncalli at home and Perry Meridian and Southport at nearby Decatur Central and Center Grove, Greenwood and Franklin Central in the six-team field at Whiteland.
Center Grove captured the Johnson County championship Saturday against Whiteland in eight innings 2-1. Senior Devon Hensley hit the game-winning triple that scored Brian Gudeman from first. Winning pitcher Conner Contrail gave up only three hits.
Beech Grove travels to a 3A sectional at Danville, 2A Manual goes to Triton Central and in 1A Greenwood Christian Academy journeys to Bethesda Christian and Lutheran plays at Morristown.
