Lutheran High School senior Emily Hopkins has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Southern Indiana in Evansville.
A goalkeeper, Hopkins played as a freshman and sophomore and was named All-County and All-Indiana Crossroads Conference her second year. She also played four years of varsity basketball.
Hopkins, seen with her parents, Lee and Sally Hopkins of Greenfield, has played on travel soccer teams since age 7. She participated four years on the Olympic development program state team and twice on the Region 2 team.
“I’ve been playing my whole life with the goal of playing in college,” she said. “Now I’ve gotten there and am more than excited to start my career as a Screaming Eagle.”
