The entry fee is $15 per student, $25 per adult or $100 per family and includes a T-shirt if registered by May 2 at www.katieshope.org. There will also be a 1-mile kiddie romp. Registration runs from 9-10 a.m. at the school, 3300 Prague Road, with the walk at 10:30 a.m.
Proceeds will benefit the Katie Lynch Scholarship Fund for Roncalli students and a program that helps make the dreams of sick children come true.
Katie Lynch was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in September 2008, the start of a rough journey involving 10 surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell transplants. She was in remission twice over the next 2 1/2 years, but cancer returned after treatment stopped.
Lynch was said to have made more friends at Riley Hospital for Children than most people have in a lifetime.
On May 20, 2011, eight days after her second stem cell transplant, she had difficulty breathing and went into cardiac arrest.
More than 4,000 people attended her viewing at Roncalli, and the funeral procession was reported to be 6 miles long.
“We hope that you will again join us to live, laugh, love and celebrate the life of Katie,” said her parents, Marty and Kathleen Lynch, who can be contacted at 783-7119 for more information.
