Roncalli senior Kathleen Ameis shot a career-best 75 to win as medalist of the Whiteland girls golf sectional Sept. 23 at The Legends. She won the sectional title by two shots over Center Grove’s Lauren Pagel. Roncalli’s team finished fourth in the nine-team field. Ameis becomes the 13th player in Roncalli girls golf history as a sectional medalist. She shot an 89 in regional competition at Smock Golf Course. Sectional champion teams Perry Meridian and Center Grove also played in the regional but did not advance to the state finals. However, Center Grove’s Meg Fosnot fired a 76 and qualified for the state finals Friday and Saturday at Prairie View Golf Course in Carmel.
