“Losing two four-year starters would be a challenge for any team, but they were run producers, excellent base runners and versatile defensively,” coach Dave Lauck said. “We don’t have any individual players to fill all those gaps, but collectively I really like the talent we have."
Senior leadoff hitter Olivia Hoffman, the single-season record holder for stolen bases and runs, returns at center field, with third-year starter Taylor Shull in right and Maddie Irmer in left. Sophomore Lauren Fey, team Most Valuable Player, and sophomore pitcher-infielder Jordan Jenkins, senior third baseman/pitcher Mallory Marsicek and senior catcher Brittany Fahringer give the Rebels a solid nucleus.
