Anna Marie Lawrie, a graduate of Roncalli and a sophomore at Manchester University, has been named as a player to watch on the Spartans’ volleyball team.
Lawrie, the squad’s libero (a defensive specialist), was one of five Manchester players noted for their potential by coaches from the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
The Spartans, coached by Bryndon Paulsen, open their season Sept. 1 in the Lake Forest College of Illinois tournament.
Lawrie is the daughter of Judd and Wendy Lawrie.
