At Roncalli (16-3), Lindsey Corsaro, 21 points, led four Rebels in double-figure scoring in an 80-35 win over Beech Grove (9-8). Daesjah Ely added 18 points, Paige Saylor 12 points and Lauren Fey 10. The Rebels jumped to a 29-10 first-quarter lead. In the boys game, Beech Grove (4-6), paced by Dylan Allen’s 19 points, downed Roncalli (6-4), 59-43.
Corsaro also scored 21 points Saturday against 4A No. 6 Lawrence North, but the Wildcats defense dominated the Rebels 54-33.
Host Manual swept a twin bill against Washington. Trinitee Johnson’s 26 points led the girls team to a 99-21 triumph after leading 55-16 at halftime. The boys team (10-1) also jumped to big halftime lead (43-28) in a dominating 90-59 win. Five players scored in twin digits, led by Courvoisier Mccauley’s 33 points.
Manual’s girls racked up the points Saturday afternoon in thrashing Shortridge 92-33 in a city tourney opener.
At Greenwood Christian Academy, the Cougars’ boys team (3-10) dropped a 76-53 game against Crispus Attucks, and the lady Tigers won 68-22.
