Southport capped a resurgent season in the pool Friday and Saturday during the swimming and diving championships at the Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI.
The Cardinals’ 200-yard medley relay team competed in preliminaries Friday; freshman Andrew Shellenbarger finished 19th (4 minutes,42.51 seconds) in the 500 freestyle, and senior Frederick Laut was 26th in the 100 breaststroke (59.82 seconds). The relay team was 27th with Shellenbarger, Laut, Drew Reinke and Jake Hemphill (1:39.24).
Perry Meridian senior Noah Coomler was fifth (21.04 seconds) in the 50-freestyle finals and 12th (47.54) in the 100 freestyle finals Saturday.
Center Grove senior Noah Tallman finished 15th (51.80) Saturday in the 100 butterfly. Tallman was 23rd (4:43.85) in the 500 freestyle finals.
